LATE PROF. R. P. SHAH (FOUNDER – 1949)
Late Professor R. P. Shah founded R P Shah & Co., Chartered Accountants in the year 1949 in Mumbai. He was a highly respected academician and professional, and also served as the Chairman of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Professor R. P. Shah laid the foundation of the firm on the core principles of integrity, independence, academic rigour, and ethical professional conduct. Under his leadership, the firm developed a reputation for uncompromising professional standards and strong technical grounding, particularly in audit and taxation.
His vision was to build a firm that would stand the test of time, serve society at large, and maintain the dignity of the profession. The values instilled by him continue to guide the firm even today.

CA Bipin R Shah is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1966 and has been associated with the firm for several decades. He took over the reins of the firm from his father, Late Professor R. P. Shah, and played a pivotal role in expanding and institutionalising the practice.
In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, he also holds degrees in Law, Cost Accounting, and a Diploma in Tax Management. A merit holder, he stood first in B.Com from H. R. College of Commerce & Economics.
During his tenure, the firm strengthened its audit and tax practice across corporates, trusts, co-operative societies, and institutions. He has been instrumental in guiding statutory audits, complex tax assessments, appellate matters, and governance advisory.
CA Bipin R Shah is widely respected for his technical depth, ethical clarity, and mentoring of generations of professionals.

CA Bhavik Shah is a practising Chartered Accountant and Partner of R P Shah & Co., Chartered Accountants, representing the current generation of leadership in the firm.
He completed his schooling from St. Xavier’s Boys Academy, Churchgate, and is a commerce graduate from H. R. College of Commerce & Economics. He is also a Law Graduate from Government Law College, Mumbai.
CA Bhavik Shah brings a contemporary, technology-driven approach to the firm while maintaining the firm’s traditional values of professional integrity and independence. His areas of focus include Goods and Services Tax, capital gains and real estate taxation, due diligence, valuations, succession planning, wills and family constitutions.
He is currently the Convener of the Journal Committee of the Chamber of Tax Consultants and is actively involved in professional research and knowledge dissemination. He is also associated with various social and professional bodies, reflecting his commitment to both the profession and the community.
